Branch: US Army About Edward CoffeyEdward Coffey is the owner of Redwood Comics, a Veteran- & AAPI-owned publisher. He writes and illustrates stories, primarily focusing on themes outside of the superhero genre. Born and raised in the East Bay, Edward pursued his passion for film by graduating from the Academy of Art University. Following his academic endeavors, he joined the U.S. Army, taking on the role of a broadcast journalist. His duties led him to Fort Riley, Kan., where he served with the 1st Infantry Division. In 2009, Edward was deployed to Baghdad, where he acted as the broadcast studio NCOIC for U.S. Forces-Iraq. During this time, he was instrumental in reviving the studio's operations, which had previously been halted due to prior leadership challenges. Upon his return, Edward was assigned to the Defense Media Activity in Alexandria, Virginia, and later to Fort Meade, Md. His exceptional skills in the field contributed to the production of numerous Emmy- and Telly-winning commercials for the DOD. After his military service, Edward transitioned to work with the Navy, producing videos. He later joined the USACE in San Francisco. Throughout this period, he also completed his master’s in writing for film, television & digital media. |
